Leisure and Sports

Cultural and heritage tourism – These include the history of Zimbabweans dating back to 3000 years and is preserved in various store houses such as the National History Museum in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe Museum of Human sciences in Harare, Mutare Antiquities Museum and Gweru Military and Police Museum. There are other monuments in Zimbabwe which have recorded more than 2000 known painted caves and sites with the most beautiful being the Nzwatugi Caves in the Matopos. Other monuments include the Mosi-oa-Tunya which is one of the Seven Wonders of the World and is an acclaimed World Natural Heritage.

Sporting Tourism – There are various sports that can be undertaken in these areas which include:

  • The Zambezi lager and Kariba Invitation Tiger Fish Tournament which is held yearly in October in Kariba
  • Jet Skiing
  • wakeboarding
  • barefoot skiing
  • General power boating
